Here’s the Plan…

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

So many people come to college thinking that they have to have their whole life figured out; I was one of them. I have always wanted to major in elementary education and that was the plan; come to Covenant, major in education, and go teach. Boy do your plans change though. Coming to Covenant I have found that it’s okay if I don’t know what I’m going to do. It takes time, we have to try different things, find out what we love and then go for it.

My major is now currently changing to our Interdisciplinary Studies Major. This is a major that Covenant offers in which you pick three focus areas and take a certain amount of classes in each of those to make up your major. My three focuses will be: elementary education, sociology, and missions. I have always wanted to do missions, however always found it impractical to major in it, but why not? I have this quote on my wall, “Don’t think about what the world needs, think about what your passionate about; because the world needs passionate people.” I can’t wait to dig my hands into some of the mission classes.

What about you guys? Do you know what you want to do? I would love to talk to you and help you with any questions you might have about some of the majors we have here at Covenant. So… talk to me! :)

Needing Some Balance

These are all things that God has put into our lives to grow us and to mold us into who he wants us to become. The problem is, “How are we suppose to fit all of them into a 24 hour day?” Click to continue »
